Trust & Compliance

Built to keep your dealership on the right side of the line

Vesper answers your phones with an AI that says it's an AI, keeps only what your team needs, and never does the things that get businesses in trouble. Here's exactly how it works.

Inbound only — never cold-calls

Vesper only answers calls your customers place to your number. It never auto-dials or cold-calls, so the consent rules that govern outbound robocalls don't apply to it.

Always says it's an AI

Every call opens by telling the caller they're speaking with an AI assistant — up front, before anything else. Clear disclosure is what regulators and the FTC expect.

No call audio recorded

Vesper keeps a written transcript so your team has the details of every conversation — it does not store an audio recording of the call.

Texts only with consent

A follow-up text goes out only when the caller says yes on the call, and that permission is logged. Opt-outs are honored, no exceptions.

Your data is never sold

Vesper captures just a name, number, and what the caller wants — to route the lead to you. That data is never sold, never shared with outside parties, and never used to train AI models.

Walled off and secure

Every dealership's leads and conversations live in their own isolated tenant, separated at the database level so no other account can ever reach them.

Questions dealers ask

The compliance questions, answered plainly

Is it legal for an AI to answer my dealership's phone?
Yes. The consent rules that limit AI and prerecorded voices apply to the party that places an outbound call. When your customer dials your number and the call forwards to Vesper, the customer started the call and Vesper is simply answering it. The FCC has confirmed those outbound rules don't extend to technology used to answer inbound calls. For an inbound-only system, this is settled ground.
Does telling customers it's an AI hurt my answer rate?
It helps more than it hurts. Disclosure is expected by the FTC and by state AI laws, and callers who keep talking after they hear it are higher-intent — they know exactly what they're getting. An AI that hides what it is, on the other hand, is exactly what regulators go after.
Do you record the calls? Who owns the data?
Vesper keeps a written transcript, not an audio recording, and it tells callers it's an AI at the start of every call. You own all of it. We never sell your data, never share it with third parties, and never use it to train AI models — it's there to route the lead to your team and nothing else.
What if the AI says something wrong — a price or a car that's not available?
Vesper is a lead-capture and triage assistant, not a sales-contract system. It's built to take down what the caller wants and hand a clean lead to your team — it doesn't quote binding prices, confirm inventory as a promise, or set financing terms. Nothing it says is a binding offer.
Will it text my customers without permission?
No. A text only goes out when the caller agrees to it on the call, and that agreement is recorded with a timestamp first. If someone asks not to be contacted, that's logged and honored right away, and your team is told so you can flag it in your CRM.
What about my financing and customer-data obligations?
Vesper is designed to capture interest and contact details and route financing questions to a human — it doesn't discuss credit or quote rates. Customer data is held under the same kind of safeguards a dealership is expected to keep, and we put the data-handling terms in writing before you go live.
